Google My Business Support

In News by info@searchiq.biz

We were onboarding a new pro-bono client this week, and they had no idea where the login information was for their Google My Business account. Turns out, the listing was created in 2012, and the employee that worked for the non-profit at that time, was no longer working for the organization.  So, I thought now would be a great time to create a short article on how to solve this common problem!

While many business owners have clear intentions when they first decide to get their business listed with Google My Business, life sometimes gets in the way, and the GMB listing fades to a lower priority in the business food chain.

Then, a few years later, the business has moved, the website URL may have changed, or the business has decided to let a Local Search Company take the reins for optimization efforts.

Many times, new clients at Search IQ don’t have their Google My Business login information recorded permanently.  The majority of the time, the person that created the Google My Business listing for the business, no longer works for the company.

Well, have no fear, Google My Business Support is near!

There are two (2) ways that we at Search IQ contact GMB for help. There actually is a direct phone number at Google, and you talk to a real person!  Who would have thought in this day and age, one could reach out and call Google for support on a “Free” service?  But it’s true!

We have no idea why other sources think Google My Business phone support is dead. Here is the direct number – 844-442-8695

Another way to reach Google for support is a bit more interesting, Twitter. That’s right tweet a question, and most times you will get a tweet back within a few hours. If you don’t currently have a Twitter account, now might be the time to climb aboard. You can tweet Google My Business support here – @GoogleMyBiz

So, when should you use the phone, and when should you Tweet?

Our experience at Search IQ shows that the phone is best left for general questions, such as I don’t remember my Google My Business login, etc.  Make sure you are calling from the phone number that is listed in the Google My Business listing.

Twitter support is great for very detailed questions. The local search support team at Google will usually request you to send a direct message detailing your issue. And, they are very quick to respond. After all, it is Google!

So, Get your Google My Business support either one of two ways, and best of luck in your local search efforts!
